Es galt den Audi zu testen in der Serra di Tramuntana. Die Serra ist ein Gebirgszug im Nordwesten Mallorca’s mit einer Fläche von ca 1067 qkm und einer Länge von über 90 km.
Von Palma aus kommend ließ ich Andratx links liegen- das sogenannte „Düsseldorfer Loch“ wollte ich mir, wenn überhaupt später antun- und fuhr in Richtung der Bergdörfer Galilea und Puigpunyent. Auf dem Weg durch die zahlreichen Serpentinen begegneten mir auch einige der wilden Bergziegen, von denen es 28.000 bis 35.000 Stück geben soll. Die schönen Tiere stellen inzwischen ein immer größer werdendes Problem dar, da sich der Bestand trotz regelmäßigem Abschuss eher vergrößert und sie die Flora doch nachhaltig schädigen.
Die beiden Bergdörfer liegen malerisch, Galilea hat ca 800 Einwohner und liegt auf 400 m Höhe, Puigpunyent hat ca 1400 Einwohner und die älteste Kirche Mallorca’s von 1237, genehmigt durch ein Urkundesiegel von Papst Innozens III.. Ganz so unberührt, wie oft beschrieben, sind auch diese Orte nicht mehr. Sie liegen zwar abseits der großen touristischen Reiserouten, werde aber auch im Mai schon regelmäßig frequentiert und adaptieren sich mit entsprechenden Ausichtsterassen in einigen Cafe’s.
Auf dem weiteren Weg nach Valdemossa und Deia fanden sich am Weg immer wieder einsam gelegene, schöne Finca’s , oft terassenförmig an den Hang geschmiegt, mit großartig angelegten Gärten.
Die Fahrt an der Steilküste ist faszinierend und anspruchsvoll, der kleine, wendige Audi machte dabei richtig Spaß. Immer wieder boten sich neue andere Ausblicke auf das Meer. Valdemossa, Deia und Soller inclusive Port de Soller waren allerdings schon so touristisch überlaufen und hinterließen bei der Durchfahrt einen sehr zwiespältigen Eindruck, dass ich es mir – wie ich zugeben muß – erspart habe anzuhalten oder auszusteigen. Daher sind hier auch keine Photos zu finden. Der Reiz dieses Teils der Insel liegt nach meinem Dafürhalten sowieso in der Natur und nicht in den touristisch verbrämten Orten. Das zeigte sich dann auch auf der Rückfahrt nach Palma.
Vielleicht ist meine Kritik an einigen Stellen ja zu scharf . Bestimmt habe ich auch die eine oder andere Sache übersehen. Wenn dem so ist, bin ich gerne bereit dazu zu lernen und bin gespannt auf die Meinung meiner Leser.
