Man sagt, dass die Thailänder,wenn sie nicht essen, über das Essen nachdenken, oder zumindest die nächste Mahlzeit planen. Vielleicht ist Ihre Küche deswegen so interessant und abwechslungsreich.
Thailand hat immer am Buddhismus festgehalten im Gegensatz zu anderen Ländern wie dem Ursprungsland Indien, in dem heute nur noch ein bis zwei Prozent Buddhisten leben. Das hat sicher dazu beigetragen, dem Land seine nationale Unabhängigkeit zu sichern, denn mit diesem Glauben ist eine Toleranz und Gastfreundschaft gegenüber Menschen aller Rassen und Glaubensrichtungen verbunden, die jederzeit spürbar ist.

So auch im Phuket.
„Wer nicht isst, ist unglücklich“ heißt es in Thailand. Und das Essen fällt in diesem kleinen Lokal in der Stadtstrasse in Hannover, irgendwo zwischen Zooviertel und Südstadt, wirklich leicht, zumal die thailändische Küche als eine der besten der Welt gilt und sie hier formvollendet und vor allem unverfälscht auf den Tisch kommt. Und man merkt, dass das Essen wirklich ein ganz wesentlicher Bestandteil des thailändischen Lebens ist( Böse Zungen behaupten,dass Thailänder nur ein Mahl am Tag haben: Dieses beginnt morgens nach dem Aufstehen und endet, wenn sie abends ins Bett gehen !).
Der letzte Pfiff
Und einer zweiten Regel-oder soll man sagen Lebensweisheit (s.Paris „Laissez-faire“ in diesem Blog)- begegnet man hier auch sehr schnell: „Immer lächeln“. Man fühlt sich gleich willkommen, gut aufgehoben. Man wird nicht nur wahrgenommen, man ist wichtig. Es soll dem Gast gut gehen, es soll ihm schmecken, er soll sich wohlfühlen!

Am Herd steht „Joy“, die Inhaberin aus Thailand. Und hier ist der Name wirklich Programm: Hier wird mit frischen Zutaten gekocht und wie mir versichert wurde ohne Geschmacksverstärker. Die Schärfe entspricht den asiatischen und nicht, wie meistens, den europäischen Vorstellungen. Aber man darf auch einen geringeren Schärfengrad wählen.
Anrichten
Unter anderem habe ich hier wirklich gute „ Gai Saté“ – Hühnerfleischspiesse mit Erdnußsauce und und scharfes, raffiniert abgestimmtes „Nuea Pat Pet“ – Gebratenes Rindfleisch mit Bambus, Thai-Auberginen und grünen Bohnen in Curry-Paste gegessen. Aber auch „Kau Pat -Gebratener Reis ist in allen Varianten empfehlenswert. Und dazu gibt es thailändisches Bier.

Aber es finden sich auch etliche deutsche Biersorten, sowohl vom Fass, als auch aus der Flasche auf der Karte. Und darunter Sorten, von denen ich noch nie in meinem Leben gehört habe, wie „ Weltenburger Kloster Barock Dunkel“ oder „Rothaus Tannenzäpfle“ aus der höchstgelegensten Brauerei Deutschlands. Das wiederum ist auf den Ehemann von „Joy“ zurückzuführen, der auf diesem Gebiet sehr kundig ist und seine Gäste bei der Auswahl gern berät, solange die noch aufnahmefähig sind.

Ob dies wirklich ein „Kleines Stück Thailand“ ist, eine thailändische Insel im norddeutschen Raum, kann ich nicht beurteilen, da ich noch nie in Thailand war.
Aber wenn Thailand ein klein wenig ist wie dieses Restaurant , lohnt sich die Reise in dieses Land.

Today, I went to the beach front with my children.
