Eine sehr gute Freundin von mir-Kristina-, die in Basel lebt, hatte mich zur Art Basel eingeladen. Ich freute mich Basel nach langer Zeit wieder zu entdecken, auf den Besuch der Art Basel, die als weltweit prestigereichste Kunstmesse gilt und natürlich darauf, Kristina wieder zu sehen.
Ich hatte ein paar Tage Zeit und Kristina mußte während der Woche arbeiten, so dass ich mir in Ruhe Basel anschauen konnte. Am Wochenende wollten wir dann auf die Basel Art gehen. Michelle-ihre Tochter-empfing mich am Bahnhof , setzte mich in der Wohnung ab und verschwand noch einmal in der Schule. Ich ging duschen, schnappte mir eine Kamera und ging ‚runter zum Rhein, der zur Zeit der Basel Art auch Ausstellungsfläche ist wie viele Museen, Geschäfte und Restaurants.
So zum Beispiel die Fischergalgen am Rhein, auch Fischwaage oder Salmenwaage genannt, eine Vorrichtung, die dazu dient, ein großes Netz in ein Gewässer zu versenken und wieder zu heben und somit als Fanggerät zu dienen. Eingesetzt werden sie nicht nur an Flüssen, sondern zum Beispiel auch an der französischen Atlantikküste.
Zur Art Basel 2011 hat der Künstler Federico Herrero aus San José diese Fischgalgen komplett bemalt. Hier treffen Kultur und Natur aufeinander, geometrische und organische Formen und reflektieren sich im jeweils Anderen, um doch wieder eine Einheit zu bilden.
