Während wir so durchs Marais schlenderten, ohne einen besonderen Plan, nur mit der vagen Vorstellung, irgendwann einmal im „La Tartine“ vorbeizuschauen, einem Restaurant in der Rue Rivoli, das Madame Broerkken wegen der mit Paté belegten Brote so schätzt, fiel mir auf, dass die meisten Menschen, denen wir begegneten, einen freundlichen Gesichtsausdruck hatten und manche uns sogar anlächelten.

In Deutschland schauen die meisten Leute trotzig und verbissen, während sie, ihr Ziel verfolgend , einherschreiten. Vielleicht stimmt es tatsächlich, was ein Freund mir neulich sagte: “Den Deutschen fehlt das „Laissez-faire“, sie sehen alles zu verbissen.“ Paris ist nun bestimmt keine ruhige Stadt, Hektik gibt es wie in allen anderen Metropolen und Probleme hat diese Stadt auch genug. Aber die Herangehensweise ist eine andere. Es wird so oft zitiert und kann dennoch nicht oft genug erwähnt werden: Kein Mensch ( Und keine Hektik und kein Problem!) wird es schaffen, einen Franzosen von einem Essen abzuhalten. Der Kellner in einem Restaurant stellt nach eigenem Bekunden der Franzosen einen der wichtigsten Menschen in ihrem Leben dar. Ist eine solche Aussage von einem Deutschen denkbar? Wohl kaum!

So nimmt manches Essen einem Problem die drohende Eskalation, führt es der Lösung näher. Es unterbricht die Hektik, schafft einen angenehmen Ruhepol. Was soll denn schon Schlimmes passieren, wenn abends Jacques im Lieblingslokal am Lieblingstisch auf einen wartet- und das mit einem wundervollen Menue-Vorschlag! Es geht nur darum, die Zeit bis dahin möglichst schnell zu überbrücken! Das Leben nicht zu schwer zu nehmen, ist eine Kunst, die die Franzosen perfekt beherrschen. Und deswegen können sie einen Menschen, den sie nicht kennen, anlächeln. Oder liegt es vielleicht auch ein ganz klein wenig daran, dass ich in Paris ständig lächele ? Das Marais jedenfalls, das ehemalige Judenviertel, ist geschäftig, lebhaft, macht Spass. Viele kleine -meist teure -Läden, nette Bistros, Kunstgalerien und kleine Museen. Man kann sich stundenlang treiben lassen und wird man pflastermüde, gibt es immer ein nettes Café oder Bistro in der Nähe.

Und im Bistro wechselt man dann unbemerkt die Seiten. Vom Beobachteten wird man zum Beobachter. Und wie meistens in Paris gibt es viel zu sehen. Die Pariser inszenieren sich, sie wollen gesehen werden. Und so hat jeder etwas davon. Auch wenn viele Fotos scheinbar unbemerkt entstanden sind, wurde es oft registriert, dass ich fotografierte- und es wurde insgeheim toleriert, ja sogar als Bestätigung aufgefasst!

Am frühen Abend kamen wir dann tatsächlich noch ins „La Tartine“, das einen Zugang von der Rivoli und einen zweiten zu der wesentlich ruhigeren Rue du Rois de Cicile hat. Es geht nahtlos von einem Café im vorderen Bereich zu einem kleinen Restaurant im hinteren Bereich, der Rue du Rois de Cicile zugewandt, über. Dabei wandelt sich der Tresen in eine offene Küche, in der ein versierter Koch kunstvoll agiert.
La Tartine
Eine Terrine de Volaille und ein Rumpsteak a point haben wirklich hervorragend geschmeckt, ein Roter aus Macon passte sehr schön dazu. Hinaus in die Nacht auf die Rue du Rois de Cicile und zum Schluss noch einen Marc und einen Espresso in irgendeinem Cafè in der Nähe…warum nicht einfach hierbleiben….so ungefähr für den Rest dieses Lebens?!
